Herman Miller Aeron Chair for Office Herman Miller, Inc was founded in the year 1923, from the early days of the company; they started manufacturing bedroom furniture and did not jumped into the office furniture business till the early 1940s. From the beginning Herman Miller Inc was able to produce innovative designs and they quickly became the number one name in office furnishings after they started venturing in this field. The company is credited with the honor of designing and developing many office furnishings for the first time and that too successfully like the first office panel systems, and in the year 1950 they introduced the first molded fiberglass chairs. In the year 1968, the company introduced for the first time the Action Office modular system of panels and attaching components in the market, it was a totally new concept at that point of time, but the product created a major impact on the market.

In the year 1976 the company introduced its first ergonomic chair by the name Ergon. This product was well received in the market. After the success of Ergon the company launched the Equa chairs in the year 1984 and in the year 1988, the modified Ergon 2 chair was introduced in the market. All the products were well received in the market and consolidated the position of the company as a market leader in the office products range. But the company was not satisfied yet they were determined to develop a completely new type of chair to completely revolutionize and overhaul the market, thus they appointed Don Chadwick and Bill Stumpf to develop their dream chair. The designing concept for the new chair was based on certain facts like the new chair should contribute to the health of the user, it should be environmentally friendly. It should allow the user to change position frequently and easily and it should really fit the body measurements of the user. Thus the Aeron office chair was born.

The design of the Herman Miller Aeron chair was unique in more than one point, it was not upholstered and instead a breathable, form-fitting material called a pellicle was used. This semi-transparent flexible mesh material, retains its shape, distributes pressure evenly, allowing the user to stay cool and comfortable always. The pellicle revolutionized the market in true sense and placed the Aeron chair in the commanding position. The Aeron chair moves with the user, working in synchronicity and these chairs are available in three sizes viz. small, medium, and large. To test the effectiveness and viability of the new design, the company employed a team of physical therapists, ergonomists, and orthopedic specialists, at the same time couple of ordinary users. All Aeron chairs offer a 12-year warranty that covers all standard components as well as labor on all warranty work. The Aeron chair entered the market in the year 1994, Herman Miller, Inc., became world leader in business and office furniture. The design of Aeron office chair was found so revolutionary that it secured a permanent corner in a New York Art Gallery for its innovative designing.
